“It’s hot, Don” is legit. For my readers who don’t know me this was a slogan for so many years made by a local car lot owner during the hottest times of summer. It was catchy, to say the least. And so catchy folks still say it today. Ahem….me.
Today was no exception.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to walk. I took off yesterday due to resting my body. I think I was doing too much walking or lifting every day. I am probably the worst to listen to my body, but yesterday it told me no as I could barely move.
I woke up today feeling better, but still not sure. I had lunch with my best friend. I kept that, as planned. I don’t get to see her much so I was not going to miss that moment. After I got home, I sat for about an hour and hydrated myself.
I have this thing where I already put on my clothes thinking that will make me more accountable. My husband got home from work and said the humidity was high. He was concerned about me going out. However, this time of year were my favorite running days.
I stepped out. Why not?!
The humidity did not let me down. A storm was moving in fast so I did my best to not slack, but damn, it was hot!
The toughest times bring out the strength in me. I pushed through and survived. I was literally pouring in sweat and so relieved when I was done. I walked a whopping two miles. Go me!

No sooner than I made it home, severe storms set in. I’m glad I got my walk in. I’m glad my body forced me to take off yesterday. I’m not fast and won’t ever be, but I’m glad I’m doing it. Bodies in motion, stay in motion.
Life is too good to not celebrate the smallest moments.
Peace out, trout!
